Thank you for supporting the Silverton Middle School!
As a result of fundraising through a bake sale, donation letter, and a successful Gallery Night, the Silverton Middle School has raised over $4500!!!

This means we can go on field work to Albuquerque, Denver, and Fort Collins; it also means we can support two Rwandan students and one Rwandan teacher coming to Silverton for 6 weeks.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the Middle School. We couldn't do this without you!

Community Members, Parents, and Friends of Silverton School!

This year the middle school has embarked on an exciting study of Africa, beginning with Rwanda.

While we wish that our field work could take us to Africa, we are instead trying to achieve the next best thing: bringing Africa to us. We have been given the unique opportunity to partner with an Expeditionary Learning School in Rwanda that is willing to send a teacher and two students to help our students learn more authentically about Rwanda.

The hope is to have our three visitors stay in Silverton for 1 month and immerse themselves into our school culture. This reciprocal learning situation will be lifechanging for all people involved.

To make this amazing experience happen, we are looking for sponsors to help purchase plane tickets for our three Rwandan visitors. Each ticket is roughly $1700.

The following link is a sponsorship letter. If you can think of someone who would like to be a part of this project, please mail them this letter asking for a donation. Checks should be sent to Silverton Public School (PO Box 128 Silverton, CO 81433). We are a tax exempt organization. Tax Exempt ID: 98-03379

We appreciate your support in connecting learning to life in
our quest to give Silverton students the most rich educational experience that we can!
